    Fri, Aug. 31

Your day starts with Mass at Basilica-Cathedral Notre-Dame de Québec (visit both the Basilica and the Crypt). It was the first Catholic parish north of Mexico and the first to be elevated to the rank of minor basilica. It is also the site of the only permanent Holy Door in the Americas. Sightseeing continues in Canada’s only walled city. Until the British victory of 1759, Old Québec was the center of New France; today, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Within the walls are Place d’Armes, Laval Seminary, and ancient Place Royale. Also, see the Old-World houses crowding the narrow streets in Lower Town by the St. Lawrence River and historic Plains of Abraham. This afternoon and evening are free for independent activities. Maybe explore the historic sites, take a carriage ride, or stroll the streets of Old Québec City. (B)

    OVERNIGHT:  Quebec City Hotel

    Sat, Sept. 1

Start your day at a family owned 'Sugar Shack' with a traditional Quebec breakfast, a taste of maple syrup and a short lesson in the history of Maple Syrup making in the region.  Celebrate Mass at a local church and then a cruise on the St Lawrence River and discover the charm of Ile d'Orleans, admire the Montmorency Falls, the highest waterfall in Eastern Canada, all the while with the majestic Laurentian Mountains in the background. View the port installations on both shores of the St. Lawrence and cruise beneath the prestigious Chateau Frontenac, perched atop Cap Diamant. Enjoy some time this afternoon at leisure to explore Quebec City further. Join your fellow pilgrims for dinner at a local restaurant tonight. (B & D)

    OVERNIGHT: Quebec City Hotel

    Sun, Sept. 2

Head south today and stop for a visit and Mass at Our Lady of the Cape Shrine founded in 1888 along the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Trois-Rivieres. Check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure. (B)
